Rapper Gift of Gab, of the Bay-Area group Blackalicious, will headline Saturday’s Conscious Overdose 2008, presented by the Willamette Hip Hop Congress.

The third annual concert will be Saturday at Cone Field House at Willamette University. Also performing are Pigeon John, Ill-Insanity, Braille Brizzy and The Garden, which includes members of Salem favorites Kid Espi and Hot in Pursuit.

The Willamette Hip Hop Congress was founded three years ago. The Hip Hop Congress is an international organization that uses hip-hop to “inspire young people to get involved in social action, civic service and cultural creativity.”

Blackalicious, which burst onto indie scene in the mid-1990s, has toured the globe, headlining hundreds of shows and joining the likes of Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, the Roots and Public Enemy.

Braille Brizzy is a Portland rap artist who will release his fourth album, “The IV Edition,” on Tuesday.

Tickets are $15 at the door or free with a Willamette student ID.
The show will begin at 8 p.m.; Willamette University is at 900 State St.
